Creating Inner Peace..
Our philosophy here is that you have everything within you to have a happy, productive and peaceful life. We are here to support you in finding your highest potential. The old paradigm of mental illness is being replaced with mental wellness, the science of using an integrated approach to discover and enhance your personal sense of self.
We are always curious and willing to explore the new materials that help individuals heal, and also to reach into the more in depth therapeutic models that move an individual into wellness.
Cognitive Behavioral therapeutic techniques, with the new Positive Psychology movement and the neuroscience to back up the finding are now proving that we can change our old worn out habits. Psychodynamic models of therapy are also used at appropriate times to delve more deeply into personal issues.
We use a wide variety of techniques based on your personal and individual needs. Together we will navigate your mental and emotional field, strengthen your core values, and help you set goals to live your best life.

The Journey:

One day you finally knew what you had to do, and began, though the voices round you kept shouting their bad advice—The whole house began to tremble and you felt the old tug at your ankles. MEND MY LIFE , each voice cried.

But you didn’t stop. You knew what you had to do, though the wind pried with its stiff fingers at the very foundations, and their melancholy was terrible. It was already late enough, and a wild night, and the road was full of fallen branches and stones. But little by little, as you left their voices behind, the stars began to burn through the sheets of clouds, and there was a new voice which you slowly recognized as your own, that kept you company as you strode deeper and deeper into the world, determined to do the only thing you could do.

Determined to save the only life you could save. Yours!

What is meditation?

The term meditation refers to a group of techniques which may be practiced for many reasons, such as to increase calmness and physical relaxation, to improve psychological balance, to cope with illness, or to enhance overall wellness. Most types of meditation have four elements in common:

A quiet location. Meditation is usually practiced in a quiet place with as few distractions as possible. This can be particularly helpful for beginners.

A specific, comfortable posture. Depending on the type being practiced, meditation can be done while sitting, lying down, standing, walking, or in other positions.

A focus of attention. Focusing one’s attention is usually a part of meditation. For example, the meditator may focus on a mantra (a specially chosen word or set of words), an object, or the sensations of the breath.

An open attitude. Having an open attitude during meditation means letting distractions come and go naturally without judging them.

How can meditation affect my health?

It is not fully known what changes occur in the body during meditation; whether they influence health; and, if so, how. Research is under way to find out more about meditation’s effects, how it works, and diseases and conditions for which it may be most helpful.
